General Manager
We usually feature one of our great employees here, but some of you have asked about me. I would rather brag about the other guys, but here goes. I have been married 27 years to Bette. We have 3 great kids. My son Ryan is married to Lisa. They live in Omaha where Ryan works in sales and marketing for Sullivan-Schein Dental. My daughter Amber is married to Brian King and is manager at Vanity, a women's clothing store. My daughter Ashley works at Vanity and Claires. I have worked here since 1978. I worked my way through college at Northeast Community College, and graduated from there in 1981. In 1986, I took over management here when my brother had his accident. I have served on the ATRA (Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association) International Board of Directors. Currently, I serve on the Midwest Chapter Board of ATRA. My hobbies in my spare time have changed from auto racing, which I did for many years, to woodworking. I enjoy racing now as a spectator. Our family enjoys camping. I also belong to two Bible study groups and enjoy that. My real passion has always been my kids. Now that they have grown up, I am looking forward to furthering my passion with grandchildren. I have 3 granddaughters and a grandson, and I have to say that being a grandpa is one of my greatest thrills. I am involved with Norfolk TeamMates in mentoring students. I was very proud when my mentee, Schuyler, graduated from Norfolk High at mid-term. I now have a seventh grade student. My proudest moment was being named Norfolk TeamMates mentor of the year.

Sales
Larry began working for Norfolk Transmission on August 8, 2003, and was hired into the position of Sales Manager. With a strong mechanical and sales background, Larry strives to ensure customer satisfaction among current customers and develop new customers as well. Larry also delivers transmissions, picks up cores, and fills in at the shop as needed. What Larry likes most about his job is being around and meeting people. Larry wants everyone to know that customer service is the number one priority for everyone at Norfolk Transmission. Larry encourages everyone to feel free to come to him with any problem or question they may have. If he does not know the answer, he will get the answer. Larry is a native of Tilden, Nebraska. His wife of four years, Loretta, is a native of Howells, Nebraska. After obtaining his Associate of Applied Science Degree in Automotive Technology from Northeast Community College, Larry embarked on his career that ultimately brought him to Norfolk Transmission. Larry and Loretta have no children, but they keep very busy with all their interests and hobbies. Larry plays volleyball and collects NASCAR diecast cars. He used to race stock cars; while he no longer races, he still follows the sport. Norfolk Transmission employs the best in order to give the best to you. We have been doing it right for 36 years and counting. We are never very far away. We are just a telephone call away.

Exhaust Pro and Dynamometer Quality Control
Nick started at Norfolk Transmission right out of high school. He originally started out in shop clean up and maintenance but it became quickly clear he was very smart and could do many other things and learn very quickly. He has been doing performance exhaust work on many nice street rods. He is also dynamometer testing the transmissions after they are remanufactured here in our Nebraska Transmission rebuild center.

Diagnostician
Randy Howser has been employed by Norfolk Transmission for 17 years. He originally ran the dynamometer and was later moved to transmission rebuilding. Randy said, “I try to make sure that things are as close to perfect as they can be so they last well beyond the warranty period. I want the transmissions I work on to be better than factory.” Randy attended Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska, for four years and Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska, for two years, obtaining an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Automotive Technology. He attends multiple seminars annually to keep current on his knowledge of the constantly evolving technology of transmissions. Randy and his wife Celia (nicknamed Ginger) have been living in Norfolk 18 years. Married in 1988, they have three daughters: Tresa, 20 years old; Alysia, 16 years old; and Jennifer, 14 years old. Randy’s leisure activities include hunting, fishing, and camping; interests he pursues with his daughters as well as other children (church youth groups, etc.). He is a member of Pheasants Forever and is a certified instructor teaching children about hunter safety. Norfolk Transmission is proud that Randy has been serving their customers for 17 years. Randy and Norfolk Transmission are eager to serve you . . . to meet and exceed your expectations. Please call upon Randy and Norfolk Transmission for your transmission and exhaust needs.

Torque Converter Rebuilder
Rob Hans is employed as torque converter rebuilder at Norfolk Transmission and Muffler. Rob has been with Norfolk Transmission since 1983. Rob is very proud of his service here at Norfolk's torque converter shop and proud of the quality of work he performs for his, "bosses", Norfolk Transmission's customers. His father told him that if he was going to do something, he should do it right...do it to the best of his ability. Rob confesses that he is a perfectionist and prefers not to use short cuts: he wants to produce the best torque converters in Nebraska and the surrounding Midwest states. Norfolk Transmission's torque converter shop encourages this due to its focus on high quality work using leading edge technology. Employees are encouraged to attend professional seminars and become ASE and ATRA certified technicians to stay current with ever changing automotive technology. Personally Rob is married and has 2 children. He says he really appreciates the flexible time his job here at Norfolk Transmission allows for him to participate in their activities together. Rob enjoys family activities such as camping and roller-blading. He also collects and restores small farm toys. His priorities are 1) God, 2) family and 3) his career. Rob wishes to thank everyone for letting him serve you.
